2026年3月18日、御崎加代子著『アントレプレナーシップの経済思想』（岩波書店）が刊行されました。 装丁に使用した写真は、2024年12月に資料調査でパリを訪れた際、コンコルド広場で撮影したものです。海の噴水（la fontaine des Mers）越しにエッフェル塔を望む構図になっています。コンコルド広場は、1755年に「ルイ15世広場」として整えられ、その後「革命広場」と改称されました。よく知られているとおり、この場所ではルイ16世やマリー・アントワネットをはじめ多くの人々が、ギロチンにより処刑されています。その後、広場は「コンコルド広場」の名で呼ばれるようになりました。 海の噴水は1840年頃に完成したとされ、当時のフランスが海運と商業の発展を願って設けた記念的噴水です。表紙に写る二つの坐像は、魚や貝・真珠の採取を表す寓意像であり、海がもたらす富と経済的繁栄を表現しています。背後に見えるエッフェル塔は1889年に完成しました。これらのモニュメントは、本書が対象とするフランスの歴史と響き合う存在です。さらに、噴水の水しぶきは、アントレプレナーがもたらすダイナミクスを象徴していると考えました。
On March 18, 2026, my new Japanese-language book, Antorrepurenāshippu no Keizai Shisō (The Economic Thought of Entrepreneurship, Iwanami Shoten) was published. The photograph used for the cover was taken at Place de la Concorde during my research visit to Paris in December 2024. It captures the Eiffel Tower as seen beyond the Fontaine des Mers. Place de la Concorde was originally laid out in 1755 as “Place Louis XV,” and was later renamed “Place de la Révolution.” As is well known, this was the site where Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, and many others were executed by guillotine. The square eventually came to be known as “Place de la Concorde” under Napoleon. The Fontaine des Mers was completed around 1840 as a monumental fountain symbolizing France’s hopes for the development of maritime transport and commerce. The two seated figures appearing on the book cover are allegorical representations of the harvesting of fish, shells, and pearls—embodying the wealth and economic prosperity bestowed by the sea. The Eiffel Tower seen in the background was completed in 1889. These monuments resonate with the historical period examined in this book. Furthermore, the spray of water rising from the fountain suggested to me the dynamics generated by entrepreneurial activity, which inspired the choice of this image for the cover.
